AIR, the Artist-in-Residence Program at Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator (LACI), empowers innovation by uniting the creative and cleantech communities in the shared aim of addressing global environmental problems.

Art is an entry point into the complex yet universal issues that affect us most: the air we breathe, the water we drink, the way we move through our cities and beyond. AIR humanizes these complex problems and related solutions, giving the public access to the vital work being done to solve global problems.

AIR supports fine artists whose work addresses ideas of agriculture, environment, energy, transportation, waste, water, and related themes. We provide training and access to the Advanced Prototyping Center (a $10M+ facility including machine shop and wet labs) while simultaneously connecting artists with experts working in related fields. The opportunity for parallel technical and intellectual growth is what makes AIR so special; and is the reason our impact will be felt far beyond our Arts District home for years to come.
