Q & A with Vikas Enti, Co-Founder and CEO of Reframe Systems, and Winner of the LA Resilient Rebuilding Cup

After months of searching for the most innovative startups specializing in resilient rebuilding technologies, LACI hosted the final pitch competition of the LA Resilient Rebuilding Cup on July 23, 2025. In a competition marked by talented entrepreneurs showcasing an array of solutions, eight finalists earned the chance to pitch before a live audience at LACI’s home in the La Kretz Innovation Campus. Vikas Enti, Co-Founder and CEO of Reframe Systems, emerged as the winner of the $25,000 grand prize, with the opportunity to double his prize money by securing a pilot deployment partner in Greater Los Angeles.

The LACI team spoke with Vikas after his winning pitch to learn more about Reframe Systems and to hear about his experience participating in the Cup. Here’s what we learned:

CAMERON: You just won the LA Resilient Rebuilding Cup. How are you feeling?

VIKAS: Excited! I think this is a great moment. We are here to tell our story, I think along with all the other participants. I think we’re all here trying to make sure we are a part of the rebuilding story for LA and it’s great to be recognized for it. This is just the beginning. We’re trying to make sure that we actually walk the talk, build the local micro factories that we want to build here, build at least 10% of the rehomes property in the next couple of years. So I would say we’re excited, humbled, honored–ready to do the work.

For those who didn’t hear the live pitch, can you tell us a bit about Reframe Systems?

At Reframe Systems, we’re on a mission to build climate-resilient homes for all and we do this by developing robotic micro factories where we get to make construction significantly more cost effective and more predictable. Our micro factories are no larger than the garden centers at Home Depot. So the goal is that we can deploy them in less than 100 days and get them across the country in a short period. We’re using these factories to build climate resilient missing-middle housing. So single family, duplexes, and small homes. Today we’re in operation in Massachusetts and our goal is to set up shop here in LA so we can help with the rebuild starting in Altadena, shipping from Massachusetts this year. The goal is to have them in showrooms and then we’ll have the factory following early next year.

How was the experience participating in the Cup?

This was amazing! I think the thoughtfulness that went into all the questions at the application stage and all the feedback we got from those was really helpful, but also meeting the rest of the cohort was good to see all the other companies that are part of the landscape for the reconstruction and rebuilding of resilient homes. I think I made a couple of new friends today. Being able to get the word out and meeting other folks in the industry was really valuable.

What’s next for Reframe Systems?

Our goal over the next 12 months is to continue scaling upward production in Massachusetts and set up a new micro factory here in LA so we can help with rebuilding.

Anyone you’d like to thank back home?

Shoutout to my team–they’ve been working tirelessly for the last two and a half years to get us to this point. And shoutout to my wife and my kids–they’ve been amazing partners through this whole journey. Also my mom and dad!
