Jose leads community engagement efforts and helps recruit for LACI’s suite of programs. Prior to LACI, Jose served as Deputy District Director to Congresswoman Barbara Lee where he oversaw constituent services and led intergovernmental advocacy efforts for issues related to transportation, housing, and economic development. During his tenure at the Greenlining Institute, he produced research to increase voter participation and decrease municipal election costs. Jose also has experience providing community engagement and growth consulting services to early and mid-stage social impact organizations led by entrepreneurs of color. Jose earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley and his Master of Business Administration from the Lorry I. Lokey Graduate School of Business at Mills College.
