LACI Among California Delegation to Beijing with Governor Brown

LACI Co-founder Fred Walti and Chief Sustainability Officer for the City of Los Angeles, Matt Petersen, were among those joining Governor Brown, Chairman Weisenmiller (CEC), and Chair Mary Nichols (CARB) as part of the recent California Delegation to Beijing.

The “Under2 Clean Energy Forum” is the sub-national group of 100+ cities/provinces originated by Governor Brown charged with implementing the Paris Climate Accord. The delegation was in China to attend the annual Clean Energy Ministerial Conference and sign the California China Clean Technology Partnership (CCCTP) between California (CEC), Beijing, the University of California and Tsinghau University. The purpose of this MOU is to provide the framework for collaborating on clean energy research by the two universities. Both CalCEF and LACI are formal members of this partnership. The trip was organized by the Bay Area Council and included delegates representing academic, business, and government stakeholders. LACI, AES, Siemens, UC Berkeley, Genetech, AQMD, Royal Business Bank, SFO and Lawrence Berkeley National Labs were among organizations on the trip.
