LACI has made an organizational commitment to diversity and inclusion by building a fair and just ecosystem that integrates women, people of color, and other underrepresented groups into the cleantech sector and the tech industry overall. Although LACI is currently outperforming a diversity benchmark of incubators and accelerators across the US, there is still work to do.

Women and people of color continue to be underrepresented in the rapidly growing green job market, leading to missed opportunities in new idea generation and wealth creation. Diverse teams and inclusive work environments lead to increased innovation, higher employee retention rates, and better financial performance.
